North West Air Ambulance Charity stores reopen

Published: 13th April 2021

Since January the North West Air Ambulance Charity’s (NWAA) retail stores have remained closed, in line with government guidelines. On 12th April they were able to welcome back staff, volunteers and, of course, their customers.

Starting their retail adventure over 16 years ago, the North West Air Ambulance Charity opened their first store in Southport and have now grown to 14 stores across the North West. From Cumbria to Cheshire, you’re never too far from one of its retail stores. With all proceeds going towards the charity, you can help them continue flying to save lives while shopping sustainably.

Usually filled with the hustle and bustle of supporters, they’ve now remained empty for over 3 months. But, thanks to the tireless work of their retail team, consisting of both employees and dedicated volunteers, the stores are a safe and welcoming environment.

The stores have been closed since winter and needed a full makeover to give them a new lease of life and bring them into spring. Each store has a wide range of items including preloved and brand-new goods waiting for you to browse, including eight stores which carry a range of furniture: Kendal, Barrowford, Longridge, Blackburn at Home, Old Swan, Heswall, Wilmslow, and Congleton. You can see a full list of stores and their locations here.

Head of Retail, Paul Freethy commented “The North West Air Ambulance Charity is absolutely delighted to be able to welcome back supporters to our stores on 12 April at 11 am. I know from messages how much you have all missed being able to shop with us, we’ve missed you too. Rest assured, our stores have been made Covid-19 secure to ensure you have a great experience when you visit.”

For those who can’t get to a store you’re still able to shop with NWAA. With a warehouse in Speke, stocked with generous donations from supporters, they’ve expanded their online presence. You can now shop with them on depop for clothing by searching northwest_air_ambulance on the depop app. They also have an eBay store, where you will find a wide range of products from collectables to high street brands.
