Accessibility statement

This accessibility statement applies to the North West Air Ambulance Charity website: www.nwairambulance.org.uk

This website is run by the North West Air Ambulance Charity. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:

  • zoom in up to 300% without the text spilling off the screen
  • navigate most of the website using just a keyboard
  • navigate most of the website using speech recognition software
  • listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)
  • force text to reflow in a single column by changing the size of the browser window

We’ve also made the website text as simple as possible to understand.

AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.

How accessible is this website?

We know some parts of this website are not fully accessible:

  • Some older PDF documents are not fully accessible
  • there is an issue with the third-party plugin that powers our online shop product galleries, meaning that some user agents may not be able to accurately interpret and parse content (WCAG 2.1 A 4.1.1 Section 508 (2017) A 4.1.1)
  • on some pages, there are form fields that share the same field label, meaning that some users may not be able to interpret forms easily (WCAG 2.1 AA 2.4.6 Section 508 (2017) AA 2.4.6)
  • the date picker on our Events page has two accessibility issues, meaning that some users may not be able to perceive the structure and relationships of the fields (Success Criterion 1.3.1 and Success Criterion 4.1.2)
  • on our online shop and Events pages, the CSS outline or border style on some elements may make the focus indicator difficult to see (WCAG 2.1 AA F78 Section 508 (2017) AA F78)
  • some of our uploaded PDFs do not have the PDF/UA identifier set – this identifier confirms accessibility conformance (Matterhorn 1.02 06-002)
