How you can help

Be there for us this Christmas, so we can be there for people in the North West

We receive no government or NHS funding – it is only thanks to the generosity of people like you that we were able to attend over 2,800 incidents last year, making a difference to the lives of many throughout the region. Whether you fundraise, volunteer, or donate – you are securing the future of our service.

We depend on our supporters to grow our service and help us save more lives

  • Our night car service is increasing from two days a week to seven
  • We’ve boosted our flight hours to 12 hours on each helicopter
  • All our helicopters will carry blood within six months
  • Drug supplies will be increased to meet the demand
  • We plan to recruit five new paramedics
  • We’re strengthening links with local hospitals

Nicola’s Story

Nicola had been visiting the local Christmas lights switch-on with her family. As she was putting her daughter, Emily, into her car seat, Nicola collapsed. She was unresponsive and had stopped breathing.  Nicola, her husband Ben and daughter Emily

What was a Christmas tradition for their family had become a nightmare. Nicola’s husband, Ben, began performing CPR. Critical Care Paramedics Mikey and Lee were on scene within 20 minutes.  Without their lifesaving intervention, Nicola wouldn’t have survived.

She said: “There never seem to be enough words or the right words to thank Mikey and Lee; they are heroes to us, and I’m sure to countless other families.”

“If it weren’t for Mikey and Lee, there’s a very high possibility that I wouldn’t be here now, I wouldn’t be able to watch Emily grow up, and she wouldn’t have a mummy.”

This month we are sharing Nicola’s Story, to show how much of a lifesaving difference you can make.
