The North West Air Ambulance Charity (NWAA) is delighted to have been chosen as the North West Counties Football League’s Charity Partner for the next two years.
The partnership begins with a generous £1,000 donation from the league and will see both organisations work together to raise awareness of NWAA’s lifesaving service and support fundraising activities across the region.
NWAA brings enhanced pre-hospital emergency care directly to patients across the North West. Covering an area from Carlisle to Crewe, the charity serves more than eight million people and relies entirely on public donations to continue operating its three helicopters and four critical care cars.
As one of the region’s leading grassroots football competitions, the North West Counties Football League is made up of clubs that play an important role in their local communities. Over the next two years, clubs, players, volunteers and supporters will have opportunities to support NWAA through a range of fundraising and awareness activities.
Debbie Jessop, General Manager from the North West Counties Football League, said: “We are delighted to welcome North West Air Ambulance Charity as our Charity Partner for the next two years. Several of our clubs have seen first hand the vital service that they provide when Air Ambulances have been called to grounds for player injuries. They cover a vast area similar to our league, stretching from Carlisle to Crewe and across to the Pennines, and provide a lifeline for communities across this area.
“We are proud to use the reach of our league and member clubs to help raise awareness for their vital work, particularly given the fact that the service is fully funded by donations. We look forward to working together to make a meaningful impact throughout this partnership both on and off the pitch.”
Grassroots football clubs are at the heart of communities across Lancashire, Merseyside. Cheshire, Greater Manchester and Cumbria, making the North West Counties Football League’s new partnership with NWAA a natural fit. Over the next two years, clubs, volunteers, players and fans will come together to support the charity through fundraising and awareness initiatives, helping to highlight the importance of its lifesaving service.

Throughout the partnership, both organisations will work together on fundraising initiatives and awareness campaigns, helping to shine a spotlight on the vital role the charity plays in communities across the North West.
