The North West Air Ambulance Charity (NWAA) is proud to announce that it has won the Emergency Services Award at the inaugural The Guide Liverpool Heroes ceremony, held at the Titanic Hotel on Friday 21 November.
The Guide Liverpool Heroes Awards, launched to celebrate the extraordinary people and organisations making a difference across the Liverpool City Region, recognised NWAA among a shortlist of standout emergency services finalists.
As the category winner, NWAA is being honoured for its lifesaving mission. The charity delivers critical care when seconds matter, sending consultant doctors, critical care paramedics to medical emergencies, accidents, and trauma across the whole North West region.
The charity relies entirely on charitable donations and fundraising, with no government or NHS funding and must raise more than £18 million each year to maintain operations.
The award highlights the continued importance of community support in helping NWAA deliver advanced critical care and expand its lifesaving capabilities.
The NWAA team weren't the only ones to win an award on the night, Farmer Olly Harrison was crowned the Fundraising Hero at the awards ceremony.
Olly has raised hundreds of thousands with his epic tractor convoys and charity campaigns, rallying and cheering communities to support NWAA. This year, it was announced that Olly had raised over £100,000 by doing birthday shout-outs on the bumper of his tractor.
