In response to the Government’s announcement on 31st October, regarding the second National lockdown due to Covid-19, which is to start on 5th November, we want to inform all those who support us about the important steps we are taking to protect our employees, volunteers, and supporters. We are taking significant measures to reduce the spread of Covid-19, whilst continuing to provide lifesaving care across the North West.
Following Government guidance, and subsequent advice from Public Health England, we have taken the decision to postpone all NWAA events and to suspend our Lottery canvassing with effect from 4th November. These measures will be in place until further notice. Given the new Government legislation our retail shops will remain closed until the end of lockdown. We apologise that we can no longer accept donated goods from the public. We have also suspended the collection and delivery of furniture, until further notice.
Our online shop remains open so please continue to support us and shop for goods, including Christmas cards. Our eBay shop also remains open for business.
Our main priority is the health and safety of our patients, supporters, employees, volunteers and the wider community, and we do not want to put anyone at unnecessary risk.
We are, as ever, incredibly grateful for the ongoing support of our community, in a time where we are postponing fundraising efforts for our services. The charity will be exploring different ways to engage with existing and new supporters in the coming months and will keep volunteers and supporters updated. We have enabled our staff to work from home, wherever possible, so our charity offices are temporarily unmanned. Our supporter engagement team is still on hand to answer any charity enquiries and you can contact them Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 5.00pm, by calling 0800 587 4570 or by emailing enquiries@nwaa.net
We apologise to anyone who may be impacted by these measures and we are sending our very best wishes to all who are being affected by the virus.
Finally, we urge all supporters to please remain safe, and consider how we might all best support vulnerable members of our communities at this time.
