It fuels our helicopters. It powers our cars. It puts specialist doctors and critical care paramedics where they’re needed most.
But above all, it gives families time. Time to make more memories. And sometimes, the time to say goodbye. It gives loved ones precious moments they might not otherwise have.
The impact of NWAA isn’t just felt by patients, but also, the people who love them. It’s hard to imagine yourself as a patient or a loved one who might need the charity’s service, but things can, and do, go wrong in an instant.
Rob, a husband to Karen and a dad to three children, nearly died in June 2022.
He was badly injured in a freak DIY accident at home and was found by his wife, covered in blood. Thinking the worst, they said “I love you”, for what they thought could be the last time…
Then the NWAA crew arrived and brought hope.
His wife, Karen, wouldn’t have a husband, and their children, Lexi, Liam and Eboni, wouldn’t have a dad. His family and friends would have lost a loved one who meant so much to them.
And the reality is, without your support, we wouldn’t have been there to save him.
They’ve given me time to grow a bit older appreciate life a little bit more and enjoy it. Time to watch my kids grow up, time to be with my wife. They gave me the time to get to the hospital. I’ve been very lucky – I feel like a very lucky man.
Rob, NWAA Patient
The reality is, without your support, we wouldn’t have been there to save Rob.
He’s celebrated more birthdays with his children. More Christmas mornings and family holidays. More everyday moments that nearly slipped away. All made possible because of your support. Lives like his hang balance every day.
Donate today so we can bring hope to families across the North West.
