Mayor’s Local Lives Partnership

A civic charity partnership to save local lives

Every year, the North West Air Ambulance (NWAA) responds to thousands of missions, providing critical care to some of the most seriously ill or injured patients across the region – bringing hospital-level care directly to the scene.

But we are entirely charity funded, and rely on the generosity of our supporters.

We are inviting Civic and Metro Mayors across the North West to make NWAA their chosen charity partner during their year in office – helping to care for local people and strengthen community resilience.

Why partner with NWAA during your Mayoral year?

The Mayor’s Local Lives Partnership is a year-long civic charity partnership designed to:

  • Demonstrate leadership in community care and wellbeing
  • Bring communities, schools and businesses together for a shared cause
  • Raise awareness of a vital emergency service operating in your borough
  • Generate meaningful fundraising to support lifesaving missions

Although the campaign is time-bound, the outcomes are not – your support will make a lasting impact and could help save a life in your community in the future.

Mayor’s Mission Month

The flagship campaign moment

At the heart of the partnership is Mayor’s Mission Month — a dedicated month of fundraising and awareness activity across your borough to help fund a mission.

During this time, schools, businesses, community groups and residents are invited to take part in simple fundraising activities, championed by your civic leadership. NWAA provides a complete campaign toolkit and structured support, making participation straightforward for your office and accessible for your community.

What you’ll receive

We deliver a fully supported partnership package, including:

  • A dedicated regional fundraiser as your main point of contact
  • A complete Mayor’s Mission Month campaign toolkit
  • Launch press release and social media templates
  • Promotional materials and fundraising resources
  • PR and media support where appropriate
  • Community engagement guidance and volunteer support
  • Regular progress updates
  • A full impact report at the end of your Mayoral year

This partnership is designed to fit around your civic commitments – a high-support, low-commitment model delivered by NWAA.

The impact…

Make a difference in your borough

By partnering with NWAA, you will help:

  • Keep critical care teams responding to emergencies in your area
  • Raise awareness of the lifesaving service available to local residents
  • Inspire businesses and community organisations to step forward
  • Strengthen long-term charitable support within your borough

When serious incidents happen, minutes matter. Your support helps ensure we can continue to respond when your community needs us most.

A meaningful legacy

Your Mayoral year is an opportunity to make a lasting difference. Through this partnership, your leadership can help create a year of community action – and a legacy that may one day save the life of someone who never expected to need us.

Hear from the Mayor of Knowsley on our recent partnership:

“Over the past two years, it has been a privilege to partner with the North West Air Ambulance Charity (NWAA). I chose to support this incredible organisation because of the lifesaving impact they have across our entire region every single day.

“Having visited their base personally, I have seen firsthand the skill, dedication, and precision of the crews. However, what many don’t realise is that this vital service is funded entirely by public donations—they receive no core funding from the NHS or the government.

“Without our collective support, these helicopters simply wouldn’t stay in the air. I encourage my fellow Mayors and Deputy Mayors to consider a partnership with NWAA; it is a powerful way to give back to a service that protects all of our constituents in their most critical moments.”
