On Board With Us

Every day, our helicopters take off and our critical care cars hit the road to reach people in life-threatening situations across the North West. But this lifesaving service doesn’t exist without you.

For the first time ever, you can put your name – or the name of someone special – on one of our helicopters or critical care cars.

For a minimum donation of £50, your name will be proudly displayed for a full year, travelling with our crew on every mission. This is more than a donation. It’s your chance to be right there with us – for every mile, every patient, and every life-changing moment.

As well as your name on one of our vehicles you’ll also receive a personalised commemorative certificate and thank you letter. Names will be added to the fleet in early Spring 2026 and you’ll be able to find your name digitally.

Terms and conditions apply. You can also find some helpful FAQs at the bottom of the page.

Limited time opportunity

This is the first campaign of its kind for NWAA – and spaces are limited. Your name could be on one of our helicopters or critical care cars, don’t miss out.

Here’s how your £50 gift could help

We wouldn’t be here without you. Your generosity funds our life-changing and lifesaving service. By getting On Board With Us, your minimum £50 donation can make a big impact. Here’s a couple of ways we could use your donation and help patients across the North West.

£50 could buy

a rapid sequence induction drug set. This set of drugs is essential to be able to put a patient in an induced coma, protecting their brain and allowing us to manage their breathing.

£50 could fund

a critical care car for five days. Your donation could help us reach patients when they need us most.

Frequently Asked Questions

You can dedicate a name to anyone – yourself, a loved one, a friend, or in memory of someone special. Names are capped at 30 characters each, including any spaces.

We are unable to accept sentences, special characters (for example,!*#&@), emojis, political statements, or offensive language.
Names must be an individual and cannot be a company/business, a group name, a charity, clubs or have the names of multiple individuals (i.e. John and Joan Smith).

We can only accept one full name per donation (this can include a title, forename, middle name(s) and surname within 30 characters).

Multiple individual names can be added but would require an additional donation per person. For example, Mr John Edward Smith would be accepted, but John and Joan Smith wouldn’t be.

If you would like to submit multiple names, you can do so online or contact our Supporter Engagement team on 0800 587 4570. If you submit more than one name, we cannot guarantee that they will appear next to each other on the vehicle.

It is the responsibility of the person submitting the name to ensure accuracy.

However, if you notice an error when you receive your certificate, please contact our Supporter Engagement team on 0800 587 4570 or email enquiries@nwairambulance.org.uk within seven days of receiving your certificate. We will do our best to accommodate changes, however we cannot guarantee this.

Of course! We welcome any additional amount over the minimum requirement of £50 for submitting a name.

The minimum donation is to ensure NWAA can cover the costs of adding the names to the helicopters, and so as much funds as possible go back to our lifesaving services. Unfortunately, you cannot Gift Aid this as we are requesting a minimum donation amount.

When donating and submitting your selected name, you will be asked if you have a preference whether your submitted name appears on a helicopter or a critical care vehicle.

NWAA will make every effort to apply this preference however, we cannot guarantee that the submitted name will be placed in the preferred location due to the availability of space.

The printing areas of the helicopter are the blue chevrons on the underside of the aircraft.

The printing area of the critical care vehicle is located on the roof of the vehicle.

For submissions made online via the NWAA website:

Donors will receive an instant confirmation email.

To ensure we can send your certificate and keep you updated about the progress of the campaign, please provide your full postal address and email contact details.

If a postal address is provided, following your donation, you will receive a letter and certificate via post. Each nominated name will receive one certificate if a postal address is provided. Please note, certificates cannot be sent via email.

The campaign will close on 4th January 2026. We will contact donors by email to let you know when your name is being applied to the vehicle and how to locate it online.

Any wider marketing communications (such as updates about other NWAA campaigns or appeals) will only be sent if you have given your consent to receive them, in line with our Privacy Policy at www.nwairambulance.org.uk/privacy-policy.

For submissions made via post:

We will send you a confirmation letter following your submission, which will then be shortly followed by a certificate. Each nominated name will receive a certificate.

The campaign will close on January 4th 2026. We will contact donors via email or post to let you know that your name is being applied to the vehicle, and how to locate your nominated name online.

Any wider marketing communications (such as updates about other NWAA campaigns or appeals) will only be sent if you have given your consent to receive them, in line with our Privacy Policy at nwairambulance.org.uk/privacy-policy.

Entries for submissions will close on 4th January 2026 and the decals with the submitted names will be applied to the vehicles by April 2026.

Submitted names will be randomly allocated a location within the printing areas on a vehicle.

Our vehicles are in use 365 days a year on lifesaving missions, so unfortunately, viewing requests to see the vehicle in person, will not be able to be facilitated.

Once the names have been added to the vehicles, NWAA will be in touch with supporters to share a PDF of names across each vehicle. Supporters will then be able to search for their own name within the document.

Your submitted name will appear on the vehicle for a minimum of 12 months.

NWAA may photograph and video the aircraft for use in media releases, publications, social media, our website, and third-party media. While individual names won’t be highlighted, supporters understand and accept that their submitted name(s) may be identifiable from the design.
