One of the world’s most celebrated marathons, the Chicago Marathon takes runners on an unforgettable journey through the heart of the Windy City. The famously flat and fast course winds through 29 vibrant neighbourhoods, showcasing Chicago’s incredible diversity, architecture and character, with around 1.7 million spectators creating an electric atmosphere along the route.
Whether you’re taking on your first marathon, aiming for a personal best or fulfilling a long-held ambition to run one of the world’s major marathons, Chicago offers an experience like no other. From the roar of the crowds to the unforgettable feeling of crossing the finish line, it’s a challenge that will stay with you long after race day.

How to Get Involved
Ready to run Chicago for a cause that matters? Join #TeamNWAA at the Bank of America Chicago Marathon and take on this world-famous challenge while helping save lives across the North West.
To secure your charity place, simply complete our registration form and pay the £75 registration fee. You’ll also be committing to a minimum fundraising target of £1,995.
Once you’re registered, our dedicated fundraising team will be on hand throughout your journey. From helping you get your fundraising started to sharing ideas and offering encouragement along the way, we’ll support you as you work towards your target and prepare for race day.
Every pound you raise will help North West Air Ambulance Charity continue delivering expert emergency pre-hospital care when every second counts.

We understand £1,995 can feel like a big goal — but most runners achieve it with the right support.
Here’s how it breaks down:
- £50 from 40 people = £2,000
- £20 from 100 people = £2,000

As a member of Team NWAA, we promise to give you lots of support and encouragement along the way. You’ll be offered a fundraising pack filled with hints, tips and ideas to increase your fundraising, a free NWAA t-shirt and supporter signs to cheer you on! Our events team will be there to support all aspects of your fundraising – it is only thanks to your generosity that we can do what we do.
