Could you complete the Fred Whitton Challenge?

The Wheelbase Fred Whitton Challenge has become one of the UK’s most popular cycling challenges. The charity event was created to honour Fred Whitton, an advocate for cycling sports in Cumbria and North Lancashire. Consisting of 112 miles around the Lake District, this is a difficult route that takes top rides just under six hours to complete, although anything over 11 is not unusual. Starting and finishing in Grasmere, the course covers all of the Lakeland passes, one with a 30% gradient.

How to get involved:

Guaranteed charity entry is now open for 2024 so please sign-up by via the dedicated booking link. By cycling for the North West Air Ambulance Charity you will be helping us to remain operational, find out more about our work here.
