Driver’s mate volunteer

Pre-loved furniture could help save lives!

We provide furniture collections and deliveries to our supporters. Volunteer Driver’s Mates play a key role in assisting our delivery drivers in timely two person deliveries.

What you’ll get up to

  • Manual handling/lifting and carrying heavy furniture
  • Supporting collections/delivering of furniture from/to customers’ home
  • Ringing customers prior to delivery with an anticipated time
  • Assisting driver with navigation and paperwork
  • Off-loading to room of choice at customers’ homes
  • Adhere to all health and safety rules and regulations
  • Be respectful to customers in their homes
  • Assisting in our warehouse in Speke

 

What we need from you

  • Good people skills
  • A strong team player
  • Reliable and trustworthy
  • A willingness to undertake training and take direction
  • Ability to use our tablets, laptops, and camera
  • Time to spare – ideally one day per week or more

When and where can I volunteer?

You will need to attend our Speke site based behind The Matchworks, Speke Road (L19 2PH) to meet the drivers and access the vans. Volunteering slots are whole days from 8am-3pm and are available Monday-Friday. Ideally, a volunteer will assist for at least one day per week.
